BrieAnne Gray Announces Re-Election Campaign for Mead School Board

Proven Leadership and Commitment to Students and Families

Mead, WA – BrieAnne Gray, a dedicated advocate for Mead’s students, families, and the values of local education, today announced her campaign for re-election to the Mead School District Board of Directors, Position 5. Elected in 2021, Gray is a nurse practitioner, mother of three, and passionate leader who has consistently prioritized the needs of students and families. Since her election, she has worked tirelessly to ensure transparency, provide sharp oversight of district processes to ensure they align with taxpayer and community values, and stand up for the rights of parents and students, even in the face of state overreach.

Delivering Results, Leading with Integrity

Since her election, Gray has made a lasting impact by increasing transparency within the district and holding district processes accountable to the community’s priorities. She has ensured curriculum decisions are accessible to parents, kept a close eye on budgetary alignment with taxpayer values, and championed school safety—particularly by advocating for stronger internet safety measures to protect students online. Her leadership has focused on enhancing educational opportunities for Mead students while staying responsive to the needs of families.

Gray has been a strong defender of parental rights, emerging as a statewide advocate in efforts to protect women’s sports and resist state mandates that undermine local decision-making. Her work, including leading opposition to mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for children, underscores her commitment to ensuring Mead families have a say in their children’s health and education.

Standing Strong at a Critical Crossroads

As the Washington State legislature advances bills like the recent changes to Initiative 2081—which, if passed, will gut parental rights, Gray remains unwavering in her resolve to defend the constitutional rights of families. With the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) pushing policies that erode local governance, such as enforcing a transgender policy despite conflicting federal directives and funding risks, Gray has taken decisive action. She has rallied support to seek federal clarity on these issues, safeguarding local control and prioritizing student well-being.

“When state leaders try to override our constitutional authority and silence our community, we must fight and win,” Gray said. “Our families deserve a school board that listens, protects our children and stands up for what matters most to Mead.” Gray pledges to continue fostering open dialogue and responsive leadership to bridge the gap between families and the district.

Strong Community Support

Gray’s re-election campaign has already raised over $20,000, a testament to the robust support she’s garnered from the community. Her deep ties to families and relentless advocacy have solidified her as a trusted leader in the district.
